Contentment in Jesus Christ
Life and ministry has many challenges. Being a good spouse or parent is not always easy. Being faithful in our ministries of service is often very difficult. We face many circumstances in life when we feel like we have failed or have fallen short of what Jesus would expect. But, in the end, we do not live and minister out of our own strength, but out of the stength that God gives us. We all need to depend more and more on him. The longer we live the more we realize this. During our journey of life we learn the secret of being content in all situations that we face. Be encouraged! Be content! For God is for you, he is not against you.
(Philippians 4:10-14) I overflow with joy in the Lord. For you have renewed your concern for me. I know you have always been concerned about me, but you have not always had an opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I need anything from you, for I have learned to be content in every situation of life. I know what it is like to be in need and what it is like to have many things. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation of life—whether I am well fed or hungry, whether living with much or in need. I can do all these things through Jesus Christ who gives me his strength!
